Vergiß dich selbst, dein Glück, dein Leid,
Sei gegen Grau´n und Furcht gefeit, –
In Kampf und Schreck ein Held von Erz, –
Dem Schmerz ein Balsam sei dein Herz, –
Sei still und stark im Schlachtgedröhn
Und stirbst du so, so stirbst du schön.
